Our Why

We are excited to become parents and to share a loving home where a child feels safe, supported, and truly cherished as they grow.

Our plan was to start a family, but we know life does not always turn out the way we expect. We struggled to have a child and tried fertility treatments that were unsuccessful. When the fertility treatments did not work, we came to the realization that adoption was the next step in our journey. We came upon Gladney through a friend who had previously had a positive experience with adoption. We are excited to become parents and to share a loving home where a child feels safe, supported, and truly cherished as they grow.

Our Story

We found our way back to each other and quickly realized how meaningful our connection truly was.

We first met through a mutual friend during our senior year of high school. After high school, David went off to basic training for the military, and Danica went to college. Four years later, Danica graduated from college, and David returned from the military. We found our way back to each other and quickly realized how meaningful our connection truly was. Our first date, a college football game followed by a cozy fondue dinner, felt like the perfect beginning to our story. Seven years later, we got engaged, and two years after that, in 2021, we were married. We’ve now shared five wonderful years of marriage filled with love and laughter. Our relationship is best described as fun-loving, a little nerdy, deeply caring, and full of affection. At its heart is a strong partnership built on trust, respect, and a solid friendship that continues to grow stronger every day.

Meet David

Adventurous, Fun, Caring

I recently retired from the military in 2026, after serving in both the Army and Air Force. Now, I continue to serve my community as a School Resource Officer at a high school. Working with students is both challenging and deeply rewarding. It has given me a greater appreciation for the experiences young people face and allows me to provide guidance and mentorship along the way. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through hiking, jiu-jitsu, fishing, and spending time with my niece and nephews. At home, I love relaxing with Danica, whether it’s playing our favorite “100 questions” game or watching rom-coms together. I also enjoy cooking and take pride in trying out new recipes and sharing those meals with the people I love.

Meet Danica

Kind, Thoughtful, Supportive

I work in the healthcare field as a laboratory technician, a path I’ve been drawn to for as long as I can remember. For over 11 years, I’ve been fortunate to grow in the same lab, continuing to deepen my passion for science and learning. I also love reading and enjoy spending quiet time getting lost in a good book.

Spending time with David is one of my favorite things. No matter what we’re doing, his sense of humor and unique perspective always make it fun. I like to stay active by taking our dogs on walks and going hiking whenever we can. I’m also a proud band nerd and play the clarinet with a local community band. In my downtime, I enjoy playing board games, and my favorite color is purple.

In Closing...

No matter what you decide, we want you to know that we will be here with compassion, respect, and support every step of the way.

Deciding whether to make an adoption plan is not an easy decision, and we have so much respect for the strength it takes to walk this journey. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and get to know us. We hope you can see the love, support, and stable home we are ready to provide. No matter what you decide, we want you to know that we will be here with compassion, respect, and support every step of the way.

Thank you,

David and Danica

Our Pets
Our journey with our dogs, Piper and Lucy, began in 2019 during a visit to a local adoption center. There, we met two inseparable twin puppies who instantly captured our hearts. It didn’t feel right to take one without the other, so we brought them both home that day. Since then,...

Our Home
One of our favorite things about our home is the very important (and slightly famous) tree in our front yard. It’s perfectly round, David insists on trimming it that way and takes his “round tree maintenance” very seriously. It’s basically his pride and joy… and possibly his grea...
