We met over 10 years ago while we were both students at college in California. We started as running buddies, bonding over schoolwork, running gossip, and our shared sense of humor. Over time, our friendship grew, and we started dating and we got married in 2019.

Our relationship is built around our shared values and interests. We love being active together, whether that’s running, lifting weights, hiking, or simply enjoying the weather with a walk around our neighborhood. Our ideal weekend day is to do something active in the morning, get lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in our neighborhood, and relax in the evening together at home. We share our lives with a close group of friends and family.

We are hard working, but value and prioritize family and health over careers and external success. We challenge each other to learn and grow as a team, and we make sure we support one another no matter what. Above all, we try to live our lives with the sense of humor and happiness that originally brought us together.

Adoption is already part of both of our families. Kayla has three adopted cousins, and Bill has two adopted cousins and an adopted uncle. When fertility treatments didn’t go as planned, we knew adoption was the right choice for us. We’ve seen the joy adoption brings, and we’re beyond excited to grow our family this way.

Kayla’s cousin, who lives nearby, adopted a baby boy earlier this year. We’re thrilled to have him in our lives and can’t wait to raise our child alongside him.
