As an adoptee myself (Sarah), I know this process often comes with many layers, complexities, and simultaneous emotions. We want you to know that we honor and acknowledge the journey you are on and make space for whatever you might be feeling. We are an adventurous, committed, and loving family who believe that the memories we create are the most precious gift we can give our children and those memories start in the safety and belonging of our home.

A FEW THINGS THAT FEEL THE MOST IMPORTANT:

1. Our Christian faith guides our daily lives and we aspire to live a life where we love unconditionally, give freely, and ser ve others in whatever way we can.
2. We’re an active and adventurous family who enjoy sports, being outdoors, and going somewhere new. We’ve had the opportunities to travel, explore, and create lasting mem-ories on camping trips, vacations, amusement park visits, and historical explorations around the world.
3. Laughter, music, and celebration are commonplace in our home, especially for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.
4. We are fortunate to have both sets of parents living in the same town as us. From holiday gatherings to weekly dinners, we are together often, and they cannot wait to love another grandchild. Casey’s sister also lives nearby, allowing us to enjoy quality time with her family, especially our niece!
5. We prioritize education and look forward to providing our child with a high-quality learning experience, centered around kindness, integrity, and living a purposeful life.
6. We are prepared for adoption financially, emotionally, and spiritually and have come to understand that adop-tion is our greatest calling and choice.
7. We have two adorable Shih Tzus. Chuy is 13-years-old while Buster is still a brand new, young pup. They are both super sweet, gentle, and great with kids.

QUALITY TIME IS OUR LOVE LANGUAGE

In our eyes, a good life is defined by the quality of our relationships, personal growth, and genuine experience rather than by extravagance or material accumulation.

We find joy in simplicity and prioritize deep, meaningful relationships over any thing else. Whether it’s seeing the world or playing Scrabble at home, it’s doing it together that makes it worthwhile.

We cannot wait for the joy of seeing the world through the eyes of a child. We also lo ok forward to the legacy of a family and the idea of passing down values, traditions, and life lessons. There is so much we’re excited to share and so much more we cannot wait to learn as we follow them to the places their heart leads.

From the beginning. I (Sarah) was adopted at birth, and from a young age, I felt a pull toward the idea of adopting as well. During our second date, Casey and I talked about adoption, and it swiftly became an integral part of our vision for a future family.

In the early years of our marriage, we frequently discussed our hope to have one or two biological children and then pursue adoption. However, we ended up having a later start than expected and went through three rounds of unsuccessful IVF. After a 6-month break, we decided to make adoption our sole focus.

Words that have led us. The needlepoint poem in the photo to the left was a gift a friend gave to my mom at my baby shower, and it was something my parents and I would often recite before bedtime. These words have become a part of me, and they are words I will pass on: that this child is wanted, chosen, and loved.
