Letters

Hi, I wish we could convey how grateful we are...

Before we tell you about us, we want you to know we will always think and speak highly of you.

Our greatest joy comes with a deep respect for your toughest decision. I can only imagine how hard this situation is for you. Words will never be adequate to express how much we will love and care for this wonderful, selfless gift you’re considering us for. Before we tell you about us, we want you to know we will always think and speak highly of you. We will celebrate any traits the baby shares with you whether that’s looks, interests, or personality. We want us and the child to have a lifelong, ongoing relationship with you, but realize there may be times you wish to step back from communication. We will ensure they know every decision you make is with their best well-being in mind. I sincerely hope something about us brings you peace and reassurance. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to get to know us.

With love,
Katy and Justin

Why we Decided to ADOPT!

Nontraditional family is the norm for us.

We have always known our family wouldn’t feel complete until we were parents.

Since Katy had chemotherapy as an infant, there was always a strong possibility that we may not be able to have a biological child. After a very taxing miscarriage which led to complications, a pregnancy would now pose significant health risks for Katy and a baby. We went into our relationship knowing that adoption may be part of our path to parenthood and feel blessed to welcome a baby into our home and heart.

Our family is a blend of siblings by marriage, blood, and friends who we truly consider family. Nontraditional family is the norm for us. Everyone is excited for a little one to join the brood.

Our Love Story

Although we didn’t marry right away, our connection was undeniable.

We met in the summer of 2011 through a mutual friend. During the first year we were together, we attended six weddings and at each one, we kept being asked when it was going to be “our turn.” Although we didn’t marry right away, our connection was undeniable.

Thirteen years later, we are still best friends who love spending time together, whether it’s doing something mundane like running errands or something more exciting like a vacation half a world away.

We are a laid-back, loving couple who enjoy sharing life’s adventures together.

Justin runs his own electrical business, while Katy works as an accountant from home.

Together, we love going to concerts, watching movies, and traveling to explore new places.
Our relationship is rooted in love, friendship, and mutual support as we work toward our goals and dreams.

Our Plan as Parents

We know this is a very personal and difficult path, and we hope something about us resonates with you and brings you comfort in your decision.

We will love any child fiercely and supportive. Our goal is to raise them in a happy, loving, and fun childhood while instilling the skills and boundaries for them to become successful, independent adults. Though both of our hobbies lean on the more introverted side, we want a child to explore whatever their passions end up being. Whether they want to do something mainstream like sports or something niche like antique collecting, we will learn about and foster their interests.

We value education and believe learning a trade is just as valid as a four-year degree. We are excited to raise a child who is emotionally intelligent, confident, and kind.

We are fortunate that both of our jobs are flexible. Justin is able to make his own hours and Katy works from home. We’ve structured our life to be able to not have to find outside childcare at least for the first year, but ideally, until they become school-aged.

Thank you for taking the time to let us share our lives with you. We know this is a very personal and difficult path, and we hope something about us resonates with you and brings you comfort in your decision. This is a small glimpse into our story and look forward to the opportunity to hear about yours.

The Nursery
The future nursery is a large room with two windows that let in plenty of natural light. One window faces budding citrus trees in the front yard that will hopefully one day produce enough fruit for homemade lemonade or orange juice, while the other looks out onto the land beyon...
