Hello There

"Whatever you decide, we are grateful that you are even considering us."
Hello there, we are Eric and Mary Kate. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We know that you are in the middle of one of the most important and personal decisions of your life, and we want you to know how much we respect the love, courage, and thoughtfulness behind it. Whatever you decide, we are grateful that you are even considering us, and we hope this letter helps you get to know our hearts a little better.

Our Story

"We balance each other well — steady and calming on one side, warm and bright on the other."

We met years ago, and it didn’t take long for us to know we had found something special. After our very first date, one of us called home and said, “I think I just met my husband.” The other wrote himself a note that simply said, “Don’t screw this up,” and kept it close by as a reminder. We were married a few years later, surrounded by the people we love most, and we’ve spent every year since building a life together rooted in faith, laughter, and partnership. We balance each other well — one of us is the steady planner who loves turning ideas into memories, and the other is the warm, outgoing one who makes every room feel a little brighter. Together, we’ve built a marriage we’re proud of, and now we’re ready to become parents.

Our Values

"Faith, family, and showing up for each other — that's what we hope to pass on."

Faith is at the center of everything we do. We attend church together every week, and our relationship with God shapes how we treat each other, our families, and everyone around us. We also deeply value family — we come from big, close-knit families who show up for each other, laugh together, and never run out of things to talk about at the dinner table. Kindness, honesty, and showing up for the people we love are values we try to live out every day, and they are the values we hope to pass on to a child.

Why We Hope to Adopt

"We see it as the path we were always meant to take."

For many years, we have walked through the pain of infertility. It has been one of the hardest parts of our journey, but through it, we’ve come to believe — with growing certainty — that God is building our family through adoption. We don’t see this as a backup plan or a second choice; we see it as the path we were always meant to take to become parents. We are ready, we are prepared, and we are more excited than words can express to open our hearts and our home to a child who needs a family, just as much as we are hoping for one.

Our Home & Everyday Life

"Bedtime stories, family dinners, and a very devoted golden retriever already waiting to be a big brother."

Our home is full of warmth, good food, and a lot of laughter. We love slow weekend mornings, home-cooked meals, and spending time with the family and friends who mean the most to us. We also have a nine-year-old golden retriever who acts like an overgrown puppy — gentle, silly, and already the most devoted member of our household. He, too, is ready to welcome a little brother or sister. We look forward to filling our home with bedtime stories, family dinners, new traditions, and the simple, everyday moments that make a house feel like home.

Our Promise to You

"A child with us will always know how deeply they are loved"

We promise that a child placed with us will grow up knowing, without any doubt, how deeply they are loved — by us, by God, and by an entire extended family who is already waiting with open arms to welcome them. We will raise them with faith, encourage their curiosity, celebrate who they are, and give them every opportunity to grow into exactly who they were made to be. No matter what path your journey takes, please know we are grateful for you, we are praying for you and your baby, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for even considering us.
